Theft #SS24008231
On October 4th 2024 Saugeen Shores Police took a report of a Theft of parcel from a residence in Port Elgin. The suspected are described as 1 male and 1 female riding an orange Yamaha motorcycle. Theft
Over the weekend Officers responded to several calls regarding vehicle entries in the area of Port Elgin. All vehicles that were entered were left unlocked overnight. Several wallets and personal items have been reported stolen. Police are reminding the community to ensure you lock your vehicles and remove any valuables at night to help prevent theft.

On October 5th 2024 at 6:35am Saugeen Shores Police were dispatched to the area of Goderich Street and Green Street for a report of a Theft from the Lion’s Club BBQ tent that occurred over night. Police attended and conducted a scenes of crime investigation. This investigation is ongoing. Stolen Vehicle #SS24008245
On October 5th 2024 at 8:50am Saugeen Shores Police took a report of a stolen motor vehicle from the area of Joseph Street in the Town of Port Elgin. The vehicle, a Toyota Rav4, was located by Middlesex OPP and a 32-year-old male who frequents Saugeen Shores was arrested for possession of property obtained by crime. Pumpkinfest Police Booth
On October 5th 2024 Members of the Saugeen Shores Police and Auxiliary unit set up a booth at the Port Elgin Pumpkinfest. A Jail Cell photo prop was donated by Crime Stoppers Grey-Bruce, Impairment goggles on loan from the OPP were used to demonstrate the dangers of impaired driving and Members of Victim Services were on site to educate the public on the resources they have available to the community and volunteer opportunities. During the festival Officers responded to two reports of missing elderly persons and a medical assist call. Lost property was also turned in and photos are available on our Facebook page. Both missing persons were located without incident. Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by and chat with our officers during your visit.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On October 5th 2024 at 12:49pm Saugeen Shores Police were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Hilker Street and River Street. This intersection is a two-way stop. A driver was issued a ticket for fail to yield to traffic on through highway.
Suspicious Person #SS24008283
On October 6th 2024 at 1:21am Saugeen Shores Police took a call in the area of Parkwood Drive. Police were advised that an unknown youth attended a residence wearing a ski mask and rang the doorbell before running away. Fire #SS24008284
On October 6th 2024 at 1:58am Saugeen Shores Police and Saugeen Shores Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a fire at the intersection of Goderich Street and Green Street. Emergency crews arrived on scene and located a vendor tent owned by the Lion's Club that had been damaged by fire. The fire had been extinguished by community members. This investigation is ongoing.
