Drug Trafficking Arrest

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Weapons Offences.

On the 3rd day of June 2025, members of the Saugeen Shores Police Service were on general patrol in Port Elgin when they observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Mill Street and Arlington Street.

The vehicle was known to police to be involved in previous crimes and was associated to a male who was currently wanted with Saugeen Shores Police for several offences. The vehicle was being operated by a female with a male passenger. Due to the possible risk to public safety a traffic stop was not completed at that time.

The vehicle was located shortly after unoccupied in a parking lot in Port Elgin.

At approximately 1248hrs officers observed the male and female walking northbound on Bricker Street and identified the male as having outstanding warrants.

The male was placed under arrest on the strength of his warrants and a search incident to arrest was conducted. Police located a large quantity of suspected drugs on his person and he was further arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The female was also placed under arrest for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The vehicle was towed from the parking lot and a search warrant was applied for and granted. A search warrant for their residence was applied for and granted.

The following items were seized during this investigation:

·         $2,460 Cash

·         50.54g of Cocaine 

·         33.46g of Fentanyl                  

·         8.96g of Methamphetamine 

·         103 tablets of Ephedrine

·         91.5g of suspected Cocaine

·         224.03g of an unknown granulated substance

·         Scales, Debt List

·         Seven Cell Phones

·         Brass knuckles x2

·         Flip knife

·         Colt Revolver replica handgun

·         Handgun replica

·         20x 12-Gauge shot gun shells

·         10x 30-30-Caliber Bullets

·         Drug paraphernalia

·         Wallet and Firearms Acquisition Licence belonging to another person

·         A Town of Saugeen Shores “closure advisory” sign

 

As a result of this investigation Beau SHERK,40, is charged with:
 

1.   Operation while Prohibited – CC 320.18(1)(a)

2.     Fail to comply with Probation – CC 733.1(1) x2

3.     Possession Proceeds of Crime - CC 354(1)(a)

4.     Possession for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine - CDSA 5(2)

5.     Possession for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid - CDSA 5(2)

6.     Possession for the purpose of trafficking - Methamphetamine - CDSA 5(2) 

7.     Possession of a Prohibited Device – CC 92(2) x4

8.     Possession of a Prohibited Device contrary to a Prohibition Order – CC 117.01(1) x10

9.  Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5000 – CC 354(1)(a) x2

10.  Possession of Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – CC 88(1)

11.Possession of Prohibited Device for a Dangerous Purpose – CC 88(1)

12.  Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5000 – CC 354(1)(a)

He was also charged with the following offences:


1. Flight from Peace Officer – CC 320.17

      2. Dangerous Operation – CC 320.13(1)

      3. Operation while Prohibited - CC 320.18(1)(a)

      4. Break and Enter – CC 348(1)(b)

 

Samantha JOHNSON, 37, is charged with:
 

1.     Possession Proceeds of Crime - CC 354(1)(a)

2.     Possession for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine - CDSA 5(2)

3.     Possession for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid - CDSA 5(2)

4.     Possession for the purpose of trafficking - Methamphetamine - CDSA 5(2)

5.     Possession of a Prohibited Device – CC 92(2) x4

6.  Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5000 – CC 354(1)(a) x2

7.  Possession of Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – CC 88(1)

8.  Possession of Prohibited Device for a Dangerous Purpose – CC 88(1)

10.  Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5000 – CC 354(1)(a)

 

Both accused were held for a Bail Hearing and remanded into custody.
