Officers Respond to Medical Emergency

On August 22nd 2025 at 11:14am Officers responded to a wellbeing check in the area of Green Street and Bricker Street in the Town of Port Elgin. Police attended to assess the situation and further requested the assistance of Mmhrt (Mobile Mental Health Response Team) and Paramedics.
Officers observed concerning signs that could have been related to a medical issue. They were able to convince the individual to attend the hospital.
Once at the hospital officers were providing the individual with new clothing. While doing so they observed new concerning symptoms and reported them to the nursing team.
The individual has now been transferred to a larger hospital for treatment believed to be stroke related.

Thank you to the responding officers who attended and took the time to talk with and make observations of the individual which in turn is getting him the medical treatment he needs.
