Concerned Citizen Calls in Impaired Driver
Impaired Driving
On November 12th 2020 at approximately 4:32pm Police received a report of a possible impaired driver who had just left an address located in Port Elgin, ON.
Police located a vehicle matching the description parked at a residence a short distance away.
Officers attended the door of the residence and spoke with a female who matched the description of the driver. Police immediately observed several signs of impairment and she was placed under arrest for operation of a motor vehicle while impaired.
The female was transported to the Saugeen Shores Police Station where she provided two suitable samples of breath to a Qualified Intoxilyzer Technician. Both samples registered two times the legal limit.
As a result of this investigation a 56 year old female of Saugeen Shores has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – BAC over .80
In addition to these charges her license was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days. She was released with a future court date.
