Media Release – Impaired Driving
On September 15th at 2:11 am police were called to attend the area of a local licenced establishment concerning a possible impaired driver.
Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect seated in the driver’s position, with two other occupants in the vehicle with its engine running.
The driver was requested to exit the vehicle. Investigating officers detected signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside breath test was administered resulting in a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the station for a further breath test.
While at the station the driver provided two breath samples of 120mgs and 130mgs of alcohol in 100 millitres of blood.
A 27 year old Toronto man has been charged with:
- Operation impaired by alcohol or drug
His driver’s licence was administratively suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He was released with a court date.
